Tentacle Techniques: Sculpting Workshop

Adult | Registration opens 2/22/2026 8:00 PM EST

Guided by GAC's resident ceramic artists, students will explore form-building methods, details like suction cups and curves, and techniques for attaching tentacles to both functional and sculptural pieces. Participants are welcome to bring their own leather-hard piece to incorporate into the project, but it’s not required. All skill levels are welcome.

The ocean has always fascinated me, not only as a force of nature but as a mirror to the human experience—where chaos, beauty, and peace exist in delicate balance.
One of the most captivating aspects of the ocean is the mystery beneath its surface—how, no matter what we imagine, we can never truly know what lies below until we dive in. This idea of the unknown resonates with me deeply, both in the natural world and within myself.
The ocean is very close to my heart because of the profound bond I shared with my grandmother. Our relationship was unlike any other.  Through her, I learned the importance of exploring the unknown, both within myself and the world around me. The ocean, for me, has always represented a place of refuge, mystery, and personal growth.
Through my work, I invite the viewer to dive into their own inner worlds, to embrace the beauty of the unknown, and to recognize the intricate universes that exist within us all.
