Learn the ancient art of spinning wool by hand using a drop spindle! In this beginner-friendly class, you'll discover how to transform raw wool into beautiful yarn. We'll cover fiber preparation, spinning techniques, and how to ply your yarn. Materials provided.
Robert Aiudi
Robert Aiudi, weaving & spinning since the age of about 8, comes from a silk weaving family from northern Italy. He studied at Wesleyan Potters in the 80s with Laurie Frenzel among others and is proud of his Textile Merit Badge from Boy Scouts achieved around 1971. He has spun nearly every fiber and weaves in many styles from traditional Colonial to modern tapestry techniques. He has a textile studio in Branford.
