How a painting is presented can make all the difference, especially for smaller works. In this class we will learn both Encaustic Painting and Collage techniques creating a small artwork and constructing a beautiful, gilded frame specifically sized for the work. Our simple frame construction methods and materials will be masked by layers of iridescent Encaustic paint that will mimic complex old world gilding embellishments, reserving a space for the artwork. When both frame and artwork are done, we can pop I the piece right into our frame creating a beautifully finished piece of art. No carpentry skills required. All levels welcome.
