Whether you use a smartphone, point and shoot camera or semi-pro gear there are basic principles in lighting and shot composition that, if followed, will get you the shot you seek. Even a good photo can benefit from some enhancement. This course will also explore available photo editing apps on mobile devices as well as advanced applications such as Adobe Photoshop. Workflow, differences in gear, intended use of photos and upgrades to gear and apps will also be discussed. Prerequisite: Basic computer skills and access to a smartphone or tablet.
Note: If you have other gear such as a point and shoot camera or more advance camera please feel free to bring those to class as well.

Shannon Gale holds a BA in Communications and Psychology from Uconn. Since 2003 she has worked as GCTV’s Operations Manager, providing instructional and technical support to producers of all ages and skill levels. Additionally, Shannon owns Visual Clarity, a private media production company serving clients in a variety of fields including the arts, medicine, government and non-profit. Combine, Shannon has experience producing and teaching audio & video production, graphic & web design, photography and social media management.
