Journaling is not only beautiful, it’s therapeutic. Mixed media is completely freeing and a simple distraction from the everyday grind. If you love expressive art this is the class for you! We will create a simple journal while you are learning collage, mixed media techniques, and pen work.

  • Materials:
  • Gathering your journaling materials is part of the process. Searching, collecting, and sorting found objects that you come across in your everyday adventures. These should be spontaneous and shouldn’t cost you money.
  • Suggestions: pretty papers, Candy wrappers, receipts, prayer cards, magazines, old copies of photographs, advertisements that come in the mail, dictionaries, scrap, ribbons, used postage stamps, beads, notes you’ve written, doodles while in a meeting, things that visually make you happy, etc…… the list is endless.
  • Watercolor pan paint
  • Black Ultra fine waterproof marker (sharpies are fine)
  • (and other colors if you wish)
  • White gel pen (I use Zebra Sarasa .5 order online from Japan or Michael’s crafts) other white markers are fine too
  • 1 sheet of heavy weight paper 9 X 12” or bigger
  • Glue stick
  • Tacky glue
  • Paint brush
  • Water cup
  • Paper Towel
  • Scissors
  • 1 sheet of lined Notebook paper and a pen or pencil
