Treat yourself to some well-deserved, dedicated knitting time. Dust off your knitting needles, bring yarn from your stash (or splurge on some new fiber) and join us for some stress-free, friendly knitting. This is a basic level knitting class; casting on, knit stitch, purl stitch and binding off will be reviewed. Students will gain confidence to start and complete projects of their own choosing; several simple and fun project ideas will be provided by the instructor.

  • Recommended Materials List:
  • Worsted weight yarn, knitting needles sizes 7 – 9
  • Bulky/chunky weight yarn – knitting needle sizes 9 - 11
  • Scissors
  • Stitch markers (optional)
  • Large eye yarn needle (optional)

MARSHA BORDEN holds a B.S. Ed. degree from State University of New York at Geneseo, a M.S. Ed. degree from Rochester Institute of Technology, and post-graduate certification from the University of Connecticut. She is currently studying at Rhode Island School of Design. Marsha maintains her own studio and exhibits nationally and locally, most recently at Kehler Liddell Gallery and Ely Center of Contemporary Art, both in New Haven. Her work with upcycled materials has been featured in juried craft shows, including at Creative Arts Workshop’s Celebration of American Crafts in New Haven.
