Sweetwater is sponsoring two wet clay open studio sessions in support of an Empty Bowls fundraising event, hosted by Just Harvest and the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank—local organizations that work toward the elimination of hunger and poverty. Anyone can attend these studio sessions and help in the fight against hunger by producing bowls to donate to the Empty Bowls dinner fundraiser, which will take place in mid-March (exact date and location will be announced at the open studio sessions).

A Sweetwater instructor will be on hand to assist those with no prior experience, and both wheel throwing and hand building options will be available. Clay is provided by Sweetwater, and all bowls created will be left at the Center to be glazed on the Open Studio Glazing Day. All finished bowls will be donated to www.JustHarvest.org.
