Poetry is an art form as old as language itself. Words have the power to move and inspire, and no one understands that more than young people who may be discovering poetry for the first time. Artist Teresa Duff will guide students through activities that combine the impact of visual art and poetry to create a sculpture using their favorite poems. Previously, she worked at the Getty Museum, the UCLA Fowler Museum of Cultural History, and currently teaches early-childhood art education at the Mattress Factory. In addition to art pedagogy, Teresa is a freelance conservator specializing in outdoor sculpture, architecture and monuments.
