Take a deep breath and embark on a journey into the sometimes whimsical, sometimes brooding, always satisfying land of storytelling. Both beginners and experienced writers will find guidance as they collect their thoughts and construct their own short stories and essays. Students will learn editing techniques, character development, setting, plot, narrative voice, and exposition, while participating in regular, and supportive critiques. Leave preconceptions behind, but feel free to bring paper, pens, laptop, tablet, and a kind regard for fellow writers. Remember Einstein's belief that, "Imagination is more important than knowledge!" Returning students are encouraged to attend to further develop their creative writing skills.

Please note, there will be no class on President’s Day 2/19/2018. The last class of the 8 week course will extend to 3/19/2018.

Beverlee Blair, a graduate of Boston University, has been a lifelong student of English literature, psychology, history and the arts (having studied both dance and acting). Ms. Blair has worked variously as a court-appointed private investigator, performance artist and teacher of creative writing for teens and adults on both the east and west coasts. Her short plays have been produced in both California and Pennsylvania and her short stories have been published locally. She is currently at work on a collection of short stories, a novel and a television series loosely based on her experience as a private investigator.
