Students will be taught basic metal forming techniques, as well as stone setting and design. Two projects will be completed: first, a simple hammered cuff bracelet with a stone setting; then a more intricate bracelet of the artist's own design. The class will be able to study several of the instructor's own pieces, some of which have won recognition for unique design quality. Students will be taught how to order metal on the first day of class.
Safety measures for Covid-19 include the following:
Small class sizes, temperature reading and review of health systems prior to each class, appropriate social distancing and hourly disinfection of high-touch points. Materials are supplied, but students are encouraged to bring supplies if owned. Sharing will be limited where possible - supplies will be sanitized between use.
Class size is limited to six students and will be held primarily in the Ceramics Studio to allow for social distancing. The instructor will accompany two students at a time to the jewelry studio as needed.
