Learn to paint plein air (outdoors). You will pass a scene hundreds of times and you never think it could be a potential painting. With elegant calligraphy (beautiful lines of a tree or grasses) and proper values and colors, you can turn that mediocre scene into a fabulous painting. We will work small - 8 x 10 and smaller so you can get most of the painting done in one sitting. I have hundreds of reference photos that you can choose from - or you can use your own photos. There are specific ways of starting a painting that I will go over with you in detail.
One main rule that I truly believe in, that will make you a successful painter is… “
Go slow and Accurate”… meaning… first - love your reference (photo or life). Next - get in a wonderful design (do not get any paint on your canvas until your design is as good as it can be and you love it. Lastly - get in a great drawing with the right perspective. Do it all accurate so you do not have to change it later. We will go over a great palette of minimal colors, and proper brushes. I will do a couple of demos during the first classes to familiarize with “how to start a landscape painting”. I look forward to seeing you all.
