Led by a patient and experienced instructor, this class is crafted with beginners in mind. You'll embark on a step-by-step exploration of fundamental drawing techniques, learning the building blocks of line, shape, form, and shading. Our focus is on demystifying the art of drawing, making it accessible and enjoyable for everyone. In each session, you'll delve into a variety of subjects, from still life and basic objects to portraiture and landscapes. Through a series of engaging exercises and projects, you'll gain confidence in your ability to translate what you see onto paper. The class is structured to allow for individualized attention, ensuring that each participant receives guidance tailored to their unique needs and goals. Shiekman, Kerri

Kerri Shiekman is a Port Washington resident. She received a B.A. in Studio Art and a Master’s Degree in Art Education from Adelphi University, and has student taught at Weber Middle School in Port Washington. Kerri is an award winning artist and has shown her work across Long Island for nearly 20 years. She predominately works with watercolor but has a strong background in drawing, painting, mixed media, and sculpture. Kerri is looking forward to sharing her love of art with the students at The Art Guild.
