Creative Collage Workshop with Tara Kawas

Tara’s goal is to share her creativity and passion for collage with you during this one day workshop! Consider stepping outside your comfort zone and exploring a new medium! She will teach you the tips and tricks to creating a beautiful magazine collage with the subject of your choice! Tara will provide one on one assistance so that each artist will be able to confidently create a piece of art they love. Come with a few photos or inspiration for your piece.
All skill levels welcome, and all supplies included!

Tara Kawas
Tara Kawas is a multidisciplinary artist who is inspired by the natural world. She creates magazine collages, ink drawings, and paints with watercolor, gouache or acrylic. Although her mediums may vary, she likes to emphasize details such as line, texture and color. In her current series of work, Tara has been imagining and creating her own natural environments, and exploring the interactions between elements of nature from the land and sea.
The artist was born in Brooklyn, New York, lived in Queens for most of her life, and currently resides in Huntington. Tara studied Art Education and Advertising Design at FIT, LIU, and Queens College, where she received two BFA’s and an MSEd. She is currently a full time high school art teacher in Flushing where she teaches drawing, painting and digital art.
