The class will start with how to put down your sketch/drawing onto the canvas and work on value and chroma, how to use the right color for highlights and shadows and glazing technique, painting layers step-by-step. You will be working on the same painting throughout the class and learn how to finish the painting.

01) Burnt Sienna
02) Vandyke Brown
03) Dioxazine Purple
04) Ultramarine Blue
05) Cadmiun Red
06) Cadmium Yellow
07) Yellow Ochre
08) Titanium White
09) Alizarin Crimson
10) Sap Green
Brush:
Synthetic or Mongoose, Round and FILBERT brushes - variety of sizes (Number 2, 4, 6 recommended), (Hog Bristle Brushes NOT recommended).
Tools:
1) Stainless Steel Oil Painting Double Palette Cup with Screw Lid.
2) Palette Paper Paint Pad (9" x 12")
3) Odorless Mineral Spirits
4) A roll of Paper Towels
5) Disposable rubber gloves.
6) Small bottle of Linseed Oil.
7) Cloths (Unwanted T-shirt cut into 10"x10" pieces).
Canvas:
1) One 11" x 14" stretched and primed canvas.
2) One 16" x 20" stretched and primed canvas.

Kevin Yen
Kevin came to the United States from Taiwan to pursue his education in fine art and illustration. He studied painting, illustration, and photography at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. He has over three decades of experience in the art industry which includes freelance work with Marvel and DC Comics. Kevin's art work is sought after by private collectors and some of his clients have been Pier One, St. Francis College, Nike, and Make-A-Wish.
