Perspective and Proportion? In this workshop, we’ll explore two essential foundations of drawing: perspective and proportion. These principles are key to creating the illusion of depth, space, and realistic form on a flat surface.
Perspective allows artists to make two-dimensional images appear three-dimensional. You'll learn how to use vanishing points, horizon lines, and basic techniques like one-point and two-point perspective to accurately place objects in space and lead the viewer’s eye through your artwork.
Proportion is about the size relationships between different parts of your subject—whether it’s the human figure, a face, an object, or an entire scene. Mastering proportion helps your work look balanced, believable, and expressive. We’ll go over practical tips for measuring and comparing shapes to improve accuracy and visual harmony in your drawings.
By understanding how perspective and proportion work together, you’ll gain the tools to bring more realism, structure, and confidence to your art—whether you’re working from life, imagination, or reference photos.
All skill levels are welcome. Come ready to draw and experiment!
