Watercolor Beginner Basics with Kerri Shiekman

In this 2 day workshop, learn, or relearn, the basics and fundamentals from the very beginning in this 2 day instructional workshop. This is a very informative and supportive workshop in which we will review and explore materials (and how to use them), basic techniques, washes, and color theory in addition to creating a guided, fun and vibrant painting!
Open to beginners or those who need a refresher.

Watercolor Pad or Block of any size you are comfortable with (recommended-Arches)
Watercolor Paint Set (pans or tubes- I recommend ‘Cotman’ for true beginners)
2 or 3 watercolor round brushes of different sizes
Tissues or Paper Towels
2 water holding containers
Mister/Spray bottle
Kerri Shiekman
Kerri Shiekman is a local resident and award-winning artist whose work has been exhibited across Long Island for more than 20 years. As an instructor at The Art Guild, she brings a supportive, encouraging approach and enjoys fostering her students' love of art. Kerri works primarily in watercolor and also has a strong foundation in drawing, oil painting, mixed media, and sculpture. She earned her B.A. in Studio Art and M.A. in Art Education from Adelphi University.
