Anime & Character Drawing Using Procreate on iPad with Mr. Karl
Kids Classes | Available
Bring your characters to life in this fun, fast-paced digital art class for students who love anime, manga, or creating their own characters. Using Procreate on the iPad, students learn how artists design expressive characters through sketching, inking, coloring, and cel shading.
We’ll explore how to draw faces and poses with personality, use bold lines and stylized proportions, and create characters that feel dynamic and full of energy. With step-by-step demos and creative projects, each student will design an original character from first sketch to finished artwork.

Karl is a visual artist and educator who brings curiosity, creativity, and a sense of fun into the studio. Working across fine art, illustration, and graphic design, he enjoys helping students experiment with materials, try new ideas, and see mistakes as part of the creative process. He has taught art to students in grades K–7, creating hands-on lessons that adapt to different learning styles while building confidence and foundational skills.
Karl studied Liberal Arts and Sciences at SUNY Stony Brook, Nassau Community College, and Mohawk Valley Community College. Drawing from his background as a working artist, he blends structure with exploration, encouraging students to ask questions, tell stories visually, and enjoy the process as much as the final result. His goal is to make art feel welcoming, playful, and accessible to everyone.
