Drawing Made Simple with Kerri Shiekman

Learn the fundamentals of drawing in a relaxed and supportive environment. This class introduces the essential skills every artist needs, including line, shape, proportion, perspective, value, and shading. Working from still life, photographs, and observation, students will build confidence while learning how to see like an artist. Perfect for complete beginners or anyone looking to strengthen their drawing foundation.

- Set of graphite pencils
- Plastic Eraser
- Kneaded eraser
- Drawing Paper and/or Sketchbook (size you're comfortable working with)
- Metal Sharpener
- Tombow mono eraser (round or rectangular)
- Electric eraser (optional, but useful)
- Clean fluffy brush (for spreading/blending graphite)
- Blending stumps/tortillons
Kerri Shiekman
Kerri Shiekman is a local resident and award-winning artist whose work has been exhibited across Long Island for more than 20 years. As an instructor at The Art Guild, she brings a supportive, encouraging approach and enjoys fostering her students' love of art. Kerri works primarily in watercolor and also has a strong foundation in drawing, oil painting, mixed media, and sculpture. She earned her B.A. in Studio Art and M.A. in Art Education from Adelphi University.
