Love anime, manga, graphic novels, comics, cartoons, or video games? Bring your ideas to life in this exciting digital art and animation class! Students will create original characters, develop compelling stories, and learn how professional artists transform concepts into animated scenes using Procreate and Procreate Dreams. Through hands-on projects, students will strengthen their drawing skills while exploring visual storytelling, character design, and the creative process behind animation.
Students will learn the complete animation pipeline—from developing characters and environments to storyboarding, framing, camera angles, lighting, animatics, keyframes, and the principles of animation. By the end of the course, each student will create original animated projects while gaining a strong foundation in digital illustration, visual narrative, and animation production. A basic understanding of drawing fundamentals is recommended.

Brandasund Peterson
Brandasund Peterson is a Long Island-based artist, animator, and art educator whose creative practice spans drawing, acrylic painting, illustration, digital art, and animation. A graduate of Adelphi University with a Bachelor of Arts in Art and Design Education, Brandasund combines strong technical skills with a passion for helping students develop confidence in their artistic abilities.
His award-winning animated project, *Mind of Their Own*, a traditionally animated proof-of-concept film, received recognition at Adelphi University for its creativity, craftsmanship, and storytelling. As both an educator and practicing artist, Brandasund is dedicated to fostering creativity, technical growth, and self-expression in artists of all ages.
Brandasund is excited to share his knowledge and enthusiasm with students at The Art Guild, where he teaches Beginner Drawing, Beginner Acrylic Painting, and Beginner Procreate as well a children's classes.
