Looking for a creative alternative to traditional painting or drawing? Discover the colorful world of mosaic art and learn how simple shapes can be transformed into beautiful works of art.
In this fun, beginner-friendly class, you'll create vibrant mosaic-inspired compositions by arranging carefully cut pieces of colored paper into landscapes, flowers, animals, abstract designs and more.
Along the way, you'll explore color, balance, rhythm, contrast and composition while learning how shape, pattern and texture create movement and visual interest.
No experience is necessary. Perfect for beginners as well as experienced artists looking to try something completely different.

- Colored construction paper or cardstock (assorted colors)
- Pencil
- Eraser
- Scissors (small, sharp scissors recommended)
- Glue stick or white craft glue
- Black fine-tip permanent marker (optional, for outlining)
- Sketchbook or drawing paper for planning designs
Kevin Yen
Kevin came to the United States from Taiwan to pursue his education in fine art and illustration. He studied painting, illustration, and photography at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. He has over three decades of experience in the art industry which includes freelance work with Marvel and DC Comics. Kevin's art work is sought after by private collectors and some of his clients have been Pier One, St. Francis College, Nike, and Make-A-Wish.
