This FREE introductory nature course is for all who wish to learn more about the vibrant, fragrant, fascinating plants that can be found in their own backyards! There are so many varieties in the Natural State - ornamentals, natives, herbs and medicinals! Nature and wildlife experts with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will show you every kind of plant imaginable as we take a closer look into nature to see which plants can benefit both the backyard creatures that live there as well as those who planted them. Bring the whole family, and come to the Witt Stephens Jr. Nature Center to experience the great wide world of plants and learn about why nature conservation is so important.

If the weather is nice, students may partake in outdoor activities, so wear APPROPRIATE CLOTHES and COMFORTABLE SHOES.

The class is free, but availability is limited, so please STILL REGISTER.

  • Age Requirements:  Ages 14 and up. All participants between the ages of 5-13 must be accompanied by an adult.
