This class has two parts: a classroom portion and a skills demonstration that is required for each participant. The classroom portion is approximately three hours long and includes a written test that requires a passing score of 80%.
The skills demonstration is approximately 20-30 minutes per person, depending on prior experience.
Participants will receive a certificate of completion from the sponsoring educational institutions and should recertify at least every three years. Participants may also be eligible to receive a Materials Handling certification, which is a verifiable and recognized credential similar to an OSHA card, from the University of Texas at Arlington.

• The common power sources for powered industrial trucks

• Safe Loading Procedures
• Driving Under Hazardous Conditions
• Workplace Hazards
• Pre-operation inspection
The skills demonstration includes pre-operation inspection, start-up procedures, lifting a load, traveling with a load, placing a load, and proper shutdown procedures.
