FREE Gardening Class: Seedlings & Transplanting

Comm Ed - Lifestyle | Available

Winter is melting away, and it's time to get that springtime garden kicked into gear! This FREE introductory course is for all aspiring gardeners who wish to learn more about how to start growing fruits, vegetables, and pollinator-attracting flowers for their gardens at home. In this particular class, we will be covering plant physiology and botany, focusing on nutritious harvests that support better health, and just how to start those seedlings and transplanting them between trays/pots. You will learn how seeds germinate, how much light and watering they require, and which plants will work best for your garden at home. Get your hands dirty - literally! - and leave class with your own loaded seed trays and the confidence and know-how to nurse those baby plants until they're ready for your outdoor garden.

All gardening equipment is provided, and some gardening gloves will be available, though you may wish to bring your own gloves.

Weather permitting, this class will be partially OUTSIDE, so check the weather and wear APPROPRIATE CLOTHES and COMFORTABLE SHOES. And, of course, you'll be handling dirt, so dress accordingly!

The class is free, but availability and materials are limited, so please STILL REGISTER!

  • Ages Requirement: Ages 14 & up. Kids between the ages of 6-13 may enroll with a registered adult.
