Tis the spooky season for your favorite furry flyers, so come to this very hands-on workshop to create your own bat box to take back home. Help knock down that pesky mosquito problem in your grassy yard and be a friend to the terribly important and very holiday appropriate local bat population. The nature experts with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will teach you everything there is to know about native bats, and they'll show you how, where, and when to install the perfect bat home near your own home. Come learn why wildlife conservation is so important, and bring the whole family to the Witt Stephens Jr. Nature Center to celebrate the great outdoors.

There is a limited number of pre-measured kit boxes available, so one $5 kit box will be provided to each family; individual registrants will make their own. Only one person per family need sign up for the class so that they only pay $5 total and not $5 per person, but please answer the registration question asking how many are in your group (maximum of five people per family) so that we make sure to plan for enough table space and chairs.

All materials and tools provided. Ear plugs will be provided, but hammering may still be too loud for particularly sensitive ears, so if you have your own preferred hearing protection, it is recommended you bring it.
