In this class you will learn about fundamental Excel features to create and modify simple worksheets. Specifically, you will learn Excel terminology and how to navigate a workbook, the different ways to enter data, how to format cells, rows, and columns, and how to write basic formulas. You will also learn about using functions in your formulas and the difference between relative and absolute cell references. You will learn some of the more advanced Excel tools used for organizing data, performing calculations, and restricting data entry. Specifically, you will learn how to import data, how to adjust the worksheet view, how to sort and filter, and how to perform some advanced calculations. Finally, we will finish with how to create basic charts.
This manual assumes that the user understands the basics of using a Windows-based computer. Students should be comfortable using the keyboard, mouse, and Start menu. Understanding and experience with printing and using a web browser is an asset, but not required. No previous experience with other versions of Excel is necessary.
