Go With the Flow: Fused Glass Intensive (Adult 18+)
Adult Intensive | FULL
Learn new techniques to make glass flow into exciting designs. Because these methods require a hotter firing, it's difficult to find kiln space during the regular class sessions. This five-day intensive will allow us to commit our kiln firings to high-fire flows such as pot melts, screen melts and flow bars. You'll learn to create more intricate patterns and discover how the higher temperatures make the glass liquid enough to flow, often making the pieces look more like furnace-made glass. One way to prepare for this workshop is to make simple pattern bars in advance which will then be arranged in a flow box. This class is open to all levels, but glass cutting skills are needed.
- Students need to have basic glass working skills. Students will have basic materials provided but will pay for their own glass from the studio.
If under 18, student must be accompanied by a registered adult. Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible. On-site courses do not come with studio access outside of class time. Paid open studio access is available through our Studio Access Program. Please visit visarts.org for more information.
