Wearable Metal Jewelry for Beginners (Adults and Youth 9+ with a Registered Adult)

This course is for beginners who are eager and interested to explore the basics of jewelry-making. You'll learn sawing, drilling, soldering, sanding, polishing, texture making, and surface treatment. This course lays the foundation for the use of metals such as copper, brass, and silver. You'll even create one finished small piece of jewelry to take home!
If under 18, student must be accompanied by a registered adult. Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible. Yifei Kong
Yifei Kong is a jeweler, metalsmith, and enamelist based in Richmond, Virginia. She was born on October 26th, 1995, in Beijing, China. She received her BFA in Metal from the State University of New York at New Paltz, NY, in 2022 and her MFA in Craft and Material Studies from VCU, in 2024.
