Clay Reclaim Workshop
Adult Intensive | Available
In this workshop, students will learn the essential skills needed to reclaim and recycle clay in a portable manner, allowing them to continue their ceramic practice at home. They will discover how to make their own plaster bats for drying clay; understand the different stages of clay and the science behind them; and master the process of reclaiming clay from various stages of production. Most importantly, they will leave with the knowledge and tools to continue reclaiming clay independently.
- Reclaim instruction will be demo + lecture style. Students can expext to leave class having created their own plaster boards, but will not reclaim clay during class time. Please bring something to take notes with.
Accessibility notes: Many artmaking processes require the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, fine motor skills/finger dexterity, repetitive motions, vision, and some amount of physical strength. VisArts values making classes accessible to everyone, and is always happy to work with students to make accommodations when possible. Please reach out to info@visarts.org with specific questions related to accessibility or accommodations.
