Creative Collage: Exploring Passion in Photoshop
Adult Intensive | Available
In this one-day workshop, you’ll learn how to harness the power of Photoshop to create a unique collage that showcases both your technical skills and conceptual creativity. Collage is the art of bringing together diverse objects, images, and materials to create something entirely new. In this workshop, you’ll transform collected media—whether it’s from online sources, books, or even your own artwork and writing—into a visual expression of a passion or interest of yours. We'll start by gathering materials related to your chosen theme and then dive into combining these elements in ways that shift their context and meaning. This is a chance to introduce yourself through your art, and to experiment freely with Photoshop’s tools while challenging yourself to think beyond the ordinary. Bring your creativity and curiosity, and be ready to leave with a piece that reimagines familiar visuals in fresh, unexpected ways.
- No prior Photoshop experience is necessary! The class will kick off with a hands-on introductory exercise to familiarize you with the software's basics. Please bring digital scanned images or photos of materials that inspire you, such as printed photos, drawings, magazine clippings, or your own artwork. You will also have time in class to explore online resources to enhance your collage.
Accessibility notes: Many artmaking processes require the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, fine motor skills/finger dexterity, repetitive motions, vision, and some amount of physical strength. VisArts values making classes accessible to everyone, and is always happy to work with students to make accommodations when possible. Please reach out to info@visarts.org with specific questions related to accessibility or accommodations.
Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.
