Flameworking: Glass Mushrooms + Plant Stakes
Adult Intensive | Available
Create a glass mini mushroom plant to spruce up your favorite house plant. This weekend workshop will introduce students to basic flame-working techniques as well as the tools and equipment needed to melt and shape borosilicate glass.
- All materials and equipment provided. Wear clothing made from natural fibers to class and closed-toe shoes. Flameworking generally involves sitting for extended periods and paying close attention to small detail. Hand and finger dexterity is necessary to turn and hold glass rods and the tools used in the flameworking process. Students will pick up work about one week from the end date of class.
Accessibility notes: Many artmaking processes require the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, fine motor skills/finger dexterity, repetitive motions, vision, and some amount of physical strength. VisArts values making classes accessible to everyone, and is always happy to work with students to make accommodations when possible. Please reach out to info@visarts.org with specific questions related to accessibility or accommodations.
Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.
