Introduction to Woodworking: Make a Modern Stool

Adult Multi-Week | FULL

Transform rough-cut lumber into a modern stool. You’ll learn to use a table saw, planer, router and a variety of hand tools.

  • There is no supply list for this class, as the teacher spends time going over joinery/design before having people source materials. Class develops around individual designs. Safety glasses and close-toed shoes are required to work in the woodshop. Rings and bracelets of any sort should be removed; loose and dangling clothing should be tucked in or removed all together. Long hair must be tied into a bun and/or secured by clips. Students can expect to pay 75-150, depending on what type of wood you choose.
Accessibility notes: Many artmaking processes require the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, fine motor skills/finger dexterity, repetitive motions, vision, and some amount of physical strength. In this class you will lift and move aroudn medium to large pieces of wood. VisArts values making classes accessible to everyone, and is always happy to work with students to make accommodations when possible. Please reach out to info@visarts.org with specific questions related to accessibility or accommodations.
Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.
