Sewing Stretch Knits
Adult Multi-Week | Available
Learn about knit garments. We’ll discover the qualities of a knit fabric and learn how it differs from a woven fabric. We’ll discuss a variety of knit fabrics so students can identify the best fabric for their desired project. You’ll have access to some industry basic blocks that can be used to create leggings, yoga pants or a simple t-shirt. Students will also learn how to properly thread and use a serger and we’ll cover sewing techniques on a standard sewing machine. Time permitting, students are welcome to work on more than one project and can learn how to make patterns or simple alterations with teacher's guidance.
- 2 home sergers will be provided in the studio and Standard sewing machines are provided. Feel free to bring your home serger or standard sewing machine. The teacher will discuss where to purchase fiber supplies during class.
