3D Printing + Design for Ceramics – New!
Adult Multi-Week | Available
Learn to design and print your own custom clay tools with a 3D printer! You can explore creating a custom rib to shape your pottery on the wheel, a signature stamp for your pieces, trimming chucks, or other tools specific to your needs. We will use two programs: Tinkercad to design these tools and Cura to slice your design files for printing.
- Tinkercad is a free online program and app for 3D design that students can explore beyond class time. Feel free to bring your own iPad and Apple Pencil with Tinkercad and Cura apps. iPads provided for use in class if you don’t bring one.
Accessibility notes: Many artmaking processes require the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, fine motor skills/finger dexterity, repetitive motions, vision, and some amount of physical strength. VisArts values making classes accessible to everyone, and is always happy to work with students to make accommodations when possible. Please reach out to info@visarts.org with specific questions related to accessibility or accommodations.
