Botanical Drawing + Design (Limited Offering) – New!

Learn basic drawing skills using graphite pencil, watercolor pencil, and pen/ink, taking inspiration from local flora and your favorite botanicals. In addition to naturalistic renderings you will be able to experiment with design work including inspiration from Art Nouveau and the tarot!
Accessibility notes: Many artmaking processes require the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, fine motor skills/finger dexterity, repetitive motions, vision, and some amount of physical strength. Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.
Due to set of stairs, Drawing North is not wheelchair accessible.

Merenda Cecelia
Merenda Cecelia lives in Richmond, Va. She is an artist and state certified art educator with extensive experience in mosaic work including several large installations. She has taught for 12 years in a variety of settings including public and private schools, the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, and The Visual Arts Center since graduating with a BFA in Art Education from Virginia Commonwealth University. She also works at the VMFA planning large community events, and when she is not doing that you can find her in the yoga studio or playing in creeks with her son.
