Deep Dive: Writing Images

Adult Multi-Week | Available

Dive deep into the realm of images to discover new possibilities for your poetry and prose. In this workshop, we'll tap into memory, imagination, description, observation, and discovery, through a number of playful, strange, and thought-provoking writing activities. These exercises will inspire new work and offer fresh ways of looking at your works in progress, in the style and genre of your choosing.

  • Class time will be spent reading and discussing a variety of texts, with an emphasis on workshop discussion of our own work and writing by other people. We will aime to make time for a writing exercise each week, but students who wish to complete finished work should expect to continue writing outside of class time.

Accessibility notes: Many artmaking processes require the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, fine motor skills/finger dexterity, repetitive motions, vision, and some amount of physical strength. VisArts values making classes accessible to everyone, and is always happy to work with students to make accommodations when possible. Please reach out to info@visarts.org with specific questions related to accessibility or accommodations.

Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.
This studio is not wheel chair accessible from the interior due to two steps, but is accessible through an exterior door.

On-site courses do not come with studio access outside of class time. Paid open studio access is available through our Studio Access Program. Please visit visarts.org for more information.
