Intermediate Digital Photography (A)

Take your photographs to the next level! You know how to use your digital camera, but have creative ennui. In this class, students are encouraged to discover their personal style with weekly assignments. We will discuss portraiture, night photography, still life and documenting daily trivia (at home). Students have the opportunity to share and discuss their images in class. Weekly presentations of selected masters along with contemporaries will provide a historic context and creative inspiration.
- Students should bring a digital camera with manual adjustment capacities and a camera manual to class (no phones). Students need to know the basics of photography. (aperture, shutter speed, ISO, white balance, basic exposure). For storage and processing photos, students need to have access to a personal computer.
Accessibility notes: Many artmaking processes require the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, fine motor skills/finger dexterity, repetitive motions, vision, and some amount of physical strength. Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.

Andres Soulas
Andres Soulas is an Argentine-American professional photographer residing in Richmond. His work has been recognized in over 15 countries. He studied Fine Arts at the National Art Museum in Buenos Aires and at the Academy of Art College in San Francisco. His work includes portraits, landscapes, travel, architectural and fashion photography.
