Make Your Own Patches (Ages 9 – 11)
Youth After School | Available
Make patches to sew on clothes by upcycling material. We will use paint pens and learn to draw designs and lettering, learn embroidery, and experiment with woodblock printing to create wearable art! The teacher will help students execute their creative vision for their patches. The goal is to have a handful of patches made by the end of the class, all from different mediums and techniques! Students can bring either an article of clothing, tote bag, or hat so we can hand sew a patch (or multiple) onto them!
Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.
This class uses air-dry clay, so projects can be taken home immediately.
Instructor speaks Spanish, but the class is held in English.
Accessibility notes: In youth art classes, many artmaking processes involve (age-appropriate) fine motor skills, physical strength, vision, and ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. VisArts values making classes accessible to everyone, and is always happy to work with students to make accommodations when possible. Please reach out to info@visarts.org with specific questions related to accessibility or accommodations.
