1 - 3pm - Handbuilding with Clay workshop in the Clay I Studio
3 - 5pm - TBD studio available for independent group use if desired (meeting, snacks, etc...)

Handbuilding with Clay

Learn handbuilding techniques like slab building, pinch pot, or coil building to create your own functional ceramic piece.

Meeting Space
From 3-5pm, a TBD studio is available for your group to use as needed. VisArts is not responsible for providing food/beverage or paper products. Please clean up everything at the end of your event.

  • Artwork will be left behind at VisArts to be fired and finished - for clay artwork this process can take ~2 months. Your event representative will receive an email when artwork is ready for pickup!

    Creativity at Work events are subject to VisArts registration policies, should you need to cancel or reschedule. In this case, the drop/transfer fee is calculated per number of participants. Creativity at Work events are priced according to the maximum possible number of participants. Cecelia, Merenda
Merenda Cecelia

Merenda Cecelia lives in Richmond, Va. She is an artist and state certified art educator with extensive experience in mosaic work including several large installations. She has taught for 12 years in a variety of settings including public and private schools, the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, and The Visual Arts Center since graduating with a BFA in Art Education from Virginia Commonwealth University. She also works at the VMFA planning large community events, and when she is not doing that you can find her in the yoga studio or playing in creeks with her son. Website: merendacw.wordpress.com
