Class | This program is completed

The transfer of ink to paper is the essential component in the making of prints. Something truly magical happens during this process. There are many methods to achieve the transfer and create a unique handmade print - and you will be able to try out several of them during this 10 week course. Designed to be an entry level exploration of Printmaking as a medium for the curious beginner, we know you’ll be just as enamored with making prints as we are!

Each method will be explained step by step while you work with your instructor to create exciting new pieces in five different media! Explore the techniques of Monotype with Brandon Brownlee, Relief with Jenni Freidman, Screenprint with Kathleen Woodward of Woodward Paper Company, Drypoint with Jenni Freidman and Bookmaking with Krista Narciso.

In addition to making lots of beautiful work, each participant will have the opportunity to view actual examples of each technique, watch demonstrations, share in conversation and enjoy the community that develops while working collectively in a shared space. All of these ingredients are the hallmarks of Printmaking and are part of what make the medium so special.

Curiosity and excitement are encouraged!

There is lots of fun to be had and tons of beautiful prints and books to be made, join us!
