I recommend paint in tubes - Windsor Newton is a good brand. The following colors (or a close equivalent) will be good for class
A good student quality student grade selection of cake colors can also be used.
- Colors:
-
Ultramarine Blue Orange
Yellow Ochre Medium Yellow Hue
Burnt Umber Cadmium Red
Burnt Sienna Alizarin Crimson
Cerulean Blue Sap green
Black
Paper
blocks are an easy and quick but also expensive. Sheets of paper may be a better choice for this class. Buy a high-Quality Paper like Arches. I will demonstrate how to mount for painting.
Mounting Board
Best solution is a smooth surface drawing board, this can be tilted and spun around. Any smooth thin but sturdy board will do. You can also mount painting to desk but makes it harder to work on multiple projects.
- Brushes
-
Windsor Newton scepter gold is a good choice or one of equivalent price. Synthetic blends are also fine.
#1/2-inch Round Brush for washes
Smaller Round Brushes
- Palette
-
Plastic Multi-compartment, preferably 8 compartments measuring 3” x 12”.
- Other important items
-
Elephant ear or Natural sponge
1” masking tape
Magic Rub eraser
Paper Towels,
6” Plastic bowl for water
See thru ruler
Masking fluid
**Also needed inspirational photos
