As artists, we can virtually travel anywhere for inspiration. Come join in the fun of exploring
different cultures, experimenting with a variety of media and learning new techniques. Travel to
the Valley of the Kings in Egypt to sculpt “William the Hippo” out of clay, draw a tomb painting
with pastels, and/or paint a detail of birds and plants on plaster. Virtually visit Connecticut sculptor Sandy Calder’s studio to create your own version of his Circus with animals, acrobats and ringmaster. Lastly, we will go virtually to the South of France to visit Henri Matisse to design a “Cut Out” collage and create a multi media Interior with bright Fauve colors. Work on your drawing and painting skills and try sculpting and printing. Bring your imagination and an old T-shirt as a smock. If you have taken the class before, there will be adaptations for you to dodifferent projects.
The class meets in the Pottery Studio downstairs in the Schoolhouse.
Lower Schoolhouse: the brick building located in the trianglar land which is a right off of Mountain Rd.
The parking lot is to the right.
Walk across the street from the parking lot and around to the other side of the building to enter on the lower floor.
The sign on the door says “Pottery Studio.”
