Rendering in Black & White

Class | This program has been canceled

In this class learn to accurately render different textures from fur and feathers, to metal and stone, tree bark, and much more. We will reference objects from life and use photos to learn techniques that capture subtle details, bringing more life and three-dimensionality to our drawings. It is expected that students already have a basic foundation of drawing and know how to draw from life, as this will not be covered in this course.

  • Materials will be discussed more in depth during the first class, but please bring the following to our first session:
    A variety of graphite pencils
    Drawing pad or sketchbook
    Vinyl eraser
    Kneaded eraser
    Tombo mono zero eraser
    Pencil sharpener
