Sketchbook 101

Class | Available

A class designed to help artists develop ideas and solid sketchbook habits. The class will focus on drawing from life, including still-life, models, drawing from photos, digital images and also journaling and collage. We will also look at Renaissance artists to contemporary artists' sketchbooks and how they developed their ideas and practice. 

3 sessions will include a live model. $28 fee is included in the class tuition for live models. 

  • No class on 9/22, and 11/8

  • Sketchbook 5.5"x8.5" 100 sheets fine tooth surface
    graphite pencil
    charcoal pencil
    color pencils
    small watercolor set (optional)
Joe Nicorici

Nicorici grew up in the Greater Hartford area. He graduated from Kingswood-Oxford in 1999 and went on to study at the University of Rhode Island.  More recently he graduated from the Hartford Art School with a BFA in painting. His work has been in exhibitions and galleries in Connecticut and New York. His current work focuses on the figure, the everyday and time — drawing influence from classical Renaissance, the history of painting and his own family history.
