Camp Week 3 | Available
Take inspiration from important artists of the past and learn from their technique and style. We will learn from Georgia O'Keeffe's enlarged and cropped observational paintings of flowers, Henri Rousseau's colorful jungle scenes, Vincent van Gogh's thick impasto application of paint, Claude Monet's focus on color and natural light, and more. Students will create their own works of art with similar techniques.

Kylene Thompson
Kylene Thompson is a public-school Art Education teacher. She received her M.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies from Virginia Commonwealth University focusing on fine arts, art history, crafts and Art education and her second M.A. in Art Education from Boston University in 2023. Kylene has over 10 years of experience teaching everything from Elementary to High School level art in public schools around CT & in VA. Before teaching she worked as an artist at an advertising agency and exhibited her own artwork at various galleries along the east coast. In 2015 she was nominated for Rookie Teacher of the Year. Kylene is both an accomplished fine artist and experienced digital artist, having received her B.A. in Painting and Graphic Design.
