The students will use a cleaned gourd bowl 5”-7” inches in diameter. Using a heat controlled wood -burner they will stencil maple leaves onto the bowl. Metallic ink dyes will be used and they will learn how to blend the colors together to create the beautiful shimmering look of the leaves. This bowl can be used for dried flowers, candy or just a beautiful center piece for the fall. No tools are required from the students, instructor will supply all equipment and dyes necessary to complete the project.

  • Please bring $15 to the first class to cover the cost of materials.

Living in Arizona for 26 years, Ceil discovered and learned from well-known gourd artists “the art of the southwest”. Soon she became a juried artist herself and opened the Carefree Gourd Gallery studio. Today she lives in Agawam, Massachusetts and participates in many art competitions and fine art venues with much success.
