The many ways to create covered jars seem endless. Because of this, In this workshop, we will focus strictly on covered jars. We will expand our knowledge and refine our skills to create lidded forms of all types; butter dishes, sugar jars, covered serving dishes, jewelry jars, cookie jars and so much more.

This is an intermediate/advanced class. The basics will not be taught. Students should come in with an understanding of clay and know how to control it on the potter's wheel.

  • Students are required to bring their own pottery tool kit available at Jerry’s Artarama and most art supply stores. The kit should include: needle tool, large and small ribbon/shaving tool, wire tool and rib. Cost of the kit at Jerry’s is approximately $7.99.
  • A $25 fee for 25 lbs of clay is included in the class fee. Glazes and firing are also included in the class fee. Additional clay may be purchased at the same fee if needed during the session.
