Colorfield Abstraction

Class | This program is completed

This class will explore colorfield painting along with artists like Josef Albers, Mark Rothko, Barnett Newman, Helen Frankenthaler and others. We will discuss and learn different styles - from geometric to freeform pouring of paint and how color, shape, and line translate into a visual language. We will also learn to stretch our own canvas and work with a variety of unconventional tools and materials. This class will challenge you to think outside the box but more importantly how to creatively problem solve and have fun with color!

  • Class will not meet on 9/22/21
  • All our Covid-19 protocols outlined here http://westhartfordart.org/covid19 will be followed.
