Impressionist Art For A Modern Time

This class will allow students to acquire a deeper understanding and appreciation of Impressionist artists and their movement. The theories and compositional techniques of Impressionism in 1860 will inspire students' current artwork. We’ll learn about social changes and novel technologies of the day that led to the birth of this artistic movement. Using paint on canvas, students will create original works of art based on demonstrations and lectures detailing composition, color, light, and brush strokes. Artists explored will include the likes of Monet, Manet, Renoir, Degas, Cezanne, Morisot, Sisley, and Cassatt.

Ana Roca
Ana B. Roca is a native of Colombia, she is also an educator, an artist and a mother. After Graduating from Brooklyn College, New York, with a BA in Psychology and a minor in Fine Arts she moved to Italy to study Art. She obtained a BA from Academy of Fine Arts in Florence Italy in painting. While in Italy, she won several prizes for her art paintings. Ana is passionate about sharing her knowledge of art history and painting techniques of the old and modern masters. Ana is retired from Collier County Public Schools and currently teaches both youth & adult students.
