Crazy Bucket & Bottle Neck Pour Painting
Adult Classes | Available
This class continues with what was taught in the previous Crazy Bucket pouring class and will further expand your skillset using experimental techniques to manipulate the medium & experience the qualities of pouring. Weekly demonstrations will be given and students will find this class to be both inspiring & challenging. The knowledge gained will propel you to the next level of pouring methods and techniques. My teaching style is to encourage engagement between students and instructor, as well as with other students. I want students to succeed on their artistic journey by gaining insight and knowledge. I provide demos, inspiration, and active involvement in my student’s expression while offering guidance and direction.
For the first class, bring 2-3 canvases, and other materials listed below.
Wooden or cotton canvasses—purchase at least 6-8 canvases
I recommend any of these sizes: 20” x 20” or 24” x 24”
Please keep in mind that you may need more canvases depending on how you work.
I recommend purchasing wooden canvases online. They are more expensive, but they are also sturdier than cotton canvases which can sag.
You may want to use a hair dryer and if so, you will need an extension cord
Paper towels
Painter’s tape
Acrylic paints
You will use a lot of white, so you may want to purchase Artist’s Loft brand in the large one-quart container, which is inexpensive. Also purchase black and some other colors. The brand of paint does impact the piece, so I recommend using: Golden (high flow, fluids or heavy body), Master’s Touch, Amsterdam, Deco Art Americana Décor Metallics, and many more (this is not an extensive list, just suggestions).
I recommend only purchasing a few colors of paints for the first class.
After the first class, you can then decide what other colors and brands you would like to purchase.
You can purchase supplies at: Michaels, Jerry’s Artarama (online), Dick Blick (online), Jackson’s (online), Holbein Artist Materials (online), and many other retailers.
