Alcohol Ink Painting
Adult Classes | Available
Explore how to use and manipulate alcohol inks on yupo paper and vellum using isopropyl alcohol, Scotch tape, dotting tools, and compressed air. Weekly demonstrations will give students a clearer understanding of how to approach the medium, create different textures and effects, diluting and mixing the inks, plus learn about color combinations and shapes. It is a very forgiving medium, so it can be easy to “erase” mistakes, yet it can also be challenging as alcohol ink expands and can take over other colors.
$25 supply fee due to instructor at first class for specialty materials
91% isopropyl alcohol
Alcohol inks: color choice and the brand are up to you, however, do not purchase cheap inks as the quality is too poor.
I would suggest Pinata or Ranger Tim Holtz brands & choose at least 6 different colors. DO NOT purchase metallic inks.
At least 3 needle tip bottles
Alcohol ink blower
Palette that can hold inks and alcohol
Paper towels
